Rochester Christian School is a parent-owned independent Christian school.  At RCS, the Board of Directors provides the link between the owners of the school and the administration.  The board is comprised of nine members who are elected from the Corporation membership at the annual spring meeting.  Board members serve three year terms. The board’s Nominating Committee screens and nominates, for board consideration, individuals to fill vacancies on the board each year.  God has blessed RCS for more than 90 years with many men and women who have faithfully served on the board and provide direction for the school.

The Board of Directors derives policies and principles of application from the Corporation’s constitution and generates, approves, and ensures implementation of the educational objectives, policies, and practices of the school including curriculum, program, and staffing.  The Board appoints and maintains the school staff, consisting of principal, teachers, and other personnel, with a careful and continuing regard for Christian character, training, aptitude, and functional effectiveness.  The Board requires that all members of the school staff be in agreement with the policies, practices, and philosophy of the reformed-based Christian education.
