The Board of Directors of Rochester Christian School, (RCS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Deborah Abbey as Principal. Mrs. Abbey will serve as the principal and educational leader of RCS.  Mrs. Abbey brings a wealth of experience from a broad range of schools. We look forward to her leadership as RCS continues to excel in its mission of providing a high quality education that effectively integrates Biblical truths in all areas of life. Mrs. Abbey has completed courses with Christian Schools International (CSI) in Educational Leadership and in Christian Distinctiveness in the classroom. She also completed an intern-mentor program in school administration with CSI. She earned her BA in Education at State University College in Cortland (early childhood through 6th grade) and her Masters as a Reading Specialist from State University College at Brockport. Mrs. Abbey has taught at RCS for the past six years. Mark and Deb's daughter Kerstin graduated from RCS in 2006 and their son Nate graduated in 2010. Prior to her coming on staff at RCS she chaired the curriculum development committee in Social Students at RCS. She mentored several teachers at RCS in the implementation of differentiated instruction. Mrs. Abbey also served as an adjunct professor at Brockport for several years and later as a teacher trainer in the Brockport School District. She taught in the Webster and Penfield School Districts, in State College, PA, and is Dusseldorf, Germany. We are thankful to have Mrs. Abbey leading our school. She is an experienced and gifted leader whose work will greatly benefit RCS. |
