Corporation
Rochester Christian School is owned by the Rochester Christian School Corporation, which is comprised of parents and friends of the school who consent to the Constitution and bylaws of the Corporation. The basis of the Corporation is the infallible Word of God interpreted from a Reformed perspective. Corporation members support the school with effort, time, and/or financial contributions and are interested in Christian education. Parents of students attending the school are encouraged to seek membership in the Corporation.

Board of Directors
Board members are elected from the Corporation membership at the annual spring meeting. The Board derives policies and principles of application from the Corporation's Constitution and generates, approves and implements the educational objectives, policies and practices of the school. The Board appoints and maintains a school staff consisting of a principal, teachers, and other personnel, with a careful and continuing regard for their Christian character, training, aptitude and functional effectiveness. The Board requires that all members of the school staff be in agreement with the policies, practices and philosophy of Reformed Christian education. The Board determines salaries, benefits and other conditions of employment and/or service.

Faculty

RCS teachers understand that God reveals Himself through not only the Bible but also our studies. They love the Bible, and so they know that we see God’s Hand in history, music, literature, and science. They know that when we study math, we are studying God’s order. As a result, students learn of who they are within God’s world and plan.

All faculty members are well trained for teaching. All regular classroom teachers are state certified. They are all active in professional growth activities, being required to develop and implement professional growth plans annually. Our teachers start every school day with faculty devotions, and then with devotions with the students in their classrooms.

Our teachers communicate frequently with the families through weekly teacher newsletters and regularly scheduled parent-student-teacher conferences. Other conferences may be scheduled if requested or needed.

Teachers contribute their time and gifts to help with coaching, extra-curricular activities and counseling. They strive to present our students with Christ-centered role models. Students often call their teacher years after graduation for advice and counseling.
