Daily Classroom Devotions

We begin by starting each homeroom with devotions led by the teacher. We are intentional about this, because we believe that it is essential to daily be in the Scriptures; searching for God’s truth for our lives. Therefore, we want to role model this for our students. Our teachers talk openly about what it means to follow Christ in our decisions, attitudes & work ethic. This sets the tone for the day; whether in class, recess, gym or sports we strive to live out our faith each day.

 

Scripture memory

Our Scripture Memory Program spans from Kindergarten through Eighth grade, building upon the verses from the previous year.  The teachers help the kids have fun memorizing scripture by using fun songs and hand motions to make the words of Scripture really stick. By the time our students graduate, they have hidden over 150 Scripture passages in their hearts! 

 

This year (2016-2017) we are memorizing Psalm 100; giving thanks to God for our 100 years of Christian Education here at RCS.

 

Prayer

Prayer is a vital part of our faith because it allows us to talk to God and build our relationship with Him. We want to model this for our students whether its teachers leading prayer or encouraging students to do so. Our Teachers and Faculty pray for our students by name. You're child is known, loved and prayed for here at RCS.
