In second grade, the students learn about various land forms and do many activities to help them learn about land forms. One of them is making an edible land form map to- gether. The students brainstorm different food items that could represent the land form they are studying. A list is sent home and different parents send in the items. Together the students create a map. Each student participates in making the map. This year the students decided to name the map, “Sweetzerland. ” They created a sugar cone mountain range, a brownie plateau, a gum drop forest and a fruit rollup river, to name a few of the land forms. The best part of course, is eating it!
