Christmas Concert

The annual Christmas concert was held on Tuesday, December 13th, at Browncroft Community Church. What a wonderful night of music and celebration to honor our newborn King!
The evening opened with our preschoolers, who always steal the show from the very beginning. The Kinder- garten Bell Choir has now become an annual tradition, followed, of course, by the First Grade recitation of Luke 2 - a favorite for young and old! Performances from the second through fifth grade choruses, middle school chorus, band, and orchestra rounded out the evening.
Congratulations to our fourth and fifth graders who performed with the band or orchestra for the very first time. Both ensembles worked hard to prepare some favorite Christmas standards for our audience. We also appreciate the grace, musical gifts, and maturity of our eighth graders in leading these ensembles.
The evening concluded with Combined K-5 Chorus performing 'Sandy Land' - a reminder to build our faith, lives and hope on the solid rock of Jesus Christ. This rousing performance was a wonderful way to conclude the evening.
Thank you to all who helped take down risers and transport percussion instruments, especially Mike Torrell, Chris Passero, and Katie and Michelle Selvaggio. We appreciate the help of all the parents who transported students to the church for our dress rehearsal that morning. Thank you also to our accompanist, Andy Lacey, for sharing his gifts and talents with us. And finally, congratulations to Ashley Andrews on leading her first concert as a music teacher here at RCS - we are blessed to have you with us!
Please save the date, Thursday March 16th, for our Annual Arts Gala concert - a collaborative effort of the music and art faculties; a fun evening that always includes a few surprises!
