Rochester Christian School is seeking a Teacher’s Aide for the 2024-2025 school year to join our team of highly trained faculty and staff. The Teacher’s Aide will work closely with our third grade classroom teacher to enhance and support learning at Rochester Christian School. This is a full time contract position.

Overview:

The Teacher's Aide will work closely with classroom teachers to provide assistance with instructional activities, classroom management, and student support. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students and contribute to the success of our school community.

Responsibilities:

• Assist classroom teachers with implementing lesson plans and instructional activities

• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who require additional help with academic or behavioral tasks

• Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, and outdoor play

• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment conducive to learning

• Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to address the individual needs of students

• Communicate regularly with the classroom teacher and school administration regarding student progress and behavior

• Participate in professional development opportunities and staff meetings as required

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in Education or related field preferred

• Previous experience working with children or in a school setting preferred

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team

• Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed

• Ability to follow directions, maintain confidentiality, and uphold professional standards

• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students and teachers

• Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students

As a Substitute Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing quality education and maintaining continuity in the absence of regular classroom teachers. This position offers a flexible schedule and the opportunity to positively impact the lives of our students.

Responsibilities:

• Implement lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the absent teacher

• Maintain a safe, orderly, and positive classroom environment conducive to learning

• Manage student behavior and enforce school policies and procedures

• Provide instruction, support, and assistance to students as needed

• Collaborate with other school staff members to ensure smooth operation of the school day

• Communicate effectively with school administration, teachers, and parents regarding student progress and classroom activities

• Complete required administrative tasks, such as attendance and incident reports, in a timely manner

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field preferred

• Valid teaching certification preferred

• Previous experience working with children or in a classroom setting preferred

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments and instructional styles

• Flexibility and availability to work on short notice

Minimum Qualifications:

• Candidates must have received a Bachelor's degree from a college or university before employment begins

• Proficiency in Google programs and use of Smartboard technology preferred
