Visual Arts

Rochester Christian School offers art classes for students in each grade. Our art program develops student skill and understanding of art, as well as a deeper understanding of how art connects us to and helps us learn about God.

Art projects cover some of the different elements (color, texture, space, shape, value, line, and form) of art based on the level of each grade, and each project challenges students perseverance, risk taking, confidence, problem solving skills, and creativity.

The art curriculum also incorporates elements of other subjects, integrating different skills that students use in their day-to-day life. Art is like a visual language, so what we learn in art class are the tools and skills necessary to better communicate. You can enjoy much of our students’ artwork decorating our walls throughout the year, and also at the Talent Show and Arts Gala.
